VinWinTech ownership has purchased the property at 2301 Irvin Cobb Drive with plans to demolish the former Residential Care Center and build a new facility at this location to expand its Paducah operations.
The City of Paducah and ViWinTech® Windows & Doors are proud to announce a new future for a prominent piece of property on Paducah’s Southside. Recently, the owners of ViWinTech purchased the former Residential Care Center located at 2301 Irvin Cobb Drive. The company, which currently employ approximately 330 employees at its facility at 2400 Irvin Cobb Drive, plans to demolish the former Residential Care Center building and build a new facility at this location to expand its Paducah operations.
Paducah Mayor George Bray said, “The Board of Commissioners and I are committed to the growth and enhancement of Paducah’s Southside, but it takes partnerships and the dedication of private companies willing to establish roots in Paducah in order to make this growth mentality tangible. I am so proud to partner with ViWinTech in this endeavor.”
ViWinTech President Evan Rittgers said, “I see so much potential in residential and commercial growth in the Southside. The acquisition of this property, which is across Irvin Cobb Drive from ViWinTech’s headquarters, expands ViWinTech’s footprint on the Southside, provides ample space for company expansion once the Residential Care Center building is removed, and creates an opportunity for partner businesses to relocate to this area. It’s a strategic business decision – a good business decision.”
Rittgers also stated that this location is beneficial to VinWinTech’s employees since most employees live within the Paducah city limits.
The City of Paducah and ViWinTech are working to finalize an economic development incentive agreement based on the job creation to be realized from this private investment and purchase.
The former Residential Care Center closed to the public in 2007.
ViWinTech offers high quality, energy efficient vinyl window and door solutions for new construction and renovation projects. The company had its beginnings in 1952 when Pete Brown began selling mini blinds out of the back of his station wagon. Brown grew his shop-on-wheels into AlumaKraft, which specialized in distributing aluminum construction products. In the 1980s, the business moved into distributing vinyl construction products and then into the manufacturing of specialty construction products. In 1998, the company took up the name ViWinTech Windows & Doors. Today, VinWinTech operates out of a 160,000 square foot plant on Paducah’s Southside with a distribution market across the South and Midwest. Learn more about ViWinTech.
