On February 26, 2024, the community gathered to celebrate the grand reopening of the Robert Cherry Civic Center located at 2701 Park Avenue. The facility offers a lobby, restrooms, a catering kitchen, and large open meeting space that can seat up to 256 people depending upon the table configuration. The Civic Center closed to the public in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, the City completed a feasibility study, met with stakeholders to gather input on community civic center needs, and worked to redesign the building to provide a community gathering area and space for members of the Parks & Recreation Department.
