Paducah Mayor George Bray is inviting interested citizens to apply to serve on the Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens Board. This 12-member board works to provide and promote social, health, nutritional, educational, welfare, and recreational activities for senior citizens in the Paducah-McCracken County area and surrounding communities.
Mayor George Bray said, “Each local board consists of individuals who dedicate their time and energy to serving their community. It’s a way that citizens can influence and impact the place they call home. Right now, the Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens Center is going through the exciting process of developing a new facility. Having a board full of engaged and committed members is more important than ever.”
Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens Board Chairman David Troutman said, “I am excited about the future of the Senior Center. While we have enjoyed years of meals and activities in our current building, the new Senior Center that will be built at 16th and Kentucky Avenue will be a beautiful facility where our senior population can spend quality time having fun, learning new activities, and building friendships. I ask interested community members who want to guide the future of the Senior Center and help grow its membership to apply to serve on the Board. It is rewarding.”
Those interested in serving on the Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens Board should email City of Paducah Assistant City Clerk Claudia Meeks or call 270-444-8507. An application packet can be found at Board and Commissions Application Packet.
Interested parties who have questions about the Senior Center or serving on the board are encouraged to email Chairman David Troutman.
Membership to the Senior Center is free. The minimum age is 60.
